I have LOVED all my experiences with A Plus Dental and cannot recommend them enough.

Our patient Megan posted a review about us on her blog.

It was our pleasure to have a chance to serve such a wonderful patient like her for the past 3 years.

We will miss her. :)

Here is her review about A Plus.

To me, there is nothing less sexy in this world than bad teeth. It’s one of the first things people notice about you whether it be a prospective employer or a date. A good smile helps brand you as a person and can be a complete turn on…. or turnoff. That is why it is SO important that we take care of our teeth on a regular basis!

However, taking care of those pearly whites isn’t as easy as it might sound when your living in a foreign country, where even the toothpaste brands are hard to understand. I see people constantly posting and asking about dentists in Korea. There have been lots of bad experiences, but I’m here to save you with A Plus Dental!

I’ve been going to A Plus for almost two years now, and have nothing but wonderful things to say. Prior to using them, I had gone to another very popular clinic amongst foreigners in Seoul, and walked away feeling really disappointed with their services.

So, what sets A Plus apart from other clinics and makes me feel good about theirs? Let me break it down for ya in one of my lists!

Reasons I Love A Plus Dental

  1.      Joyce: She is probably one of the most helpful women I’ve come across in all of Korea. She is the English translator and the person who will be by your side throughout the entire process. She lived abroad previously and is fluent in both English and Korean. Joyce is the kind of person that just gets other people and understands what they need. Communication with her is solid and I always walk away understanding my procedure, the cost, and why I need it.

   2.   The Dentists: This is probably the most important point to make! All the dentists I’ve worked with from the root canal specialist to the orthodontists are wonderful. Not only are they extremely knowledgeable and hold degrees from esteemed universities around the world, they are very friendly and most speak English!

3.   Don’t Push for Unnecessary Treatments: A lot of dentists in Korea will recommend patients have unnecessary and expensive treatments done because this is where a lot of them make their money. When I went to the other clinic I mentioned above, I walked out feeling a bit cheated. I had gone in looking for a way to fix discoloration I have on my front tooth. The dentist looked at me for what felt like all of two minutes and summed it up to me just needing a veneer. Since it was to be put on a front tooth, the other tooth would need to match and have a veneer as well, giving me a HEFTY price tag. They then shoved some papers in my face and asked if I wanted to get started that day with no breakdown of the procedure or what would be happening.

Fast forward to a year later and I was starting to feel pain in that tooth. I ran over to A Plus based on the recommendation of a friend, Samantha from Every Country Smiles, and was blown away by their services. They originally thought that I needed a root canal, so I made an appointment to see the root canal specialist who is only in on certain days (Tuesday to be exact). She did a few tests on my tooth and came to the conclusion that I didn’t need a root canal and the reason my tooth was in pain/discolored was because of its position and the way it hits my bottom teeth. She said it wasn’t necessary and didn’t want to ruin the work I had already had done on that tooth. I was then whisked off to the orthodontics section and we went through every possible way of fixing that tooth, from regular braces to Invisalign to lingual braces.

In the end, I decided braces just wasn’t for me, so now we are getting to work on doing a veneer, and I don’t need two like the other clinic said. A Plus recommended not touching a front tooth/putting a veneer on it unless absolutely necessary, unlike the other clinic.

Another example would be when I got my teeth whitened. I REALLY wanted to get the deal where you get two sessions for 240,000 KRW but Joyce talked me out of it, saying that one session was more than enough for me and saved me 110,000 KRW.

4. Prices: Although I’ve seen others say A Plus is expensive, I disagree. I think the prices are great for the quality of work and services you’re getting. I’m sure it’s much cheaper at other local clinics, but when it comes to my teeth I’m not down to risk it. When I was looking to get a root canal I was quoted 30,000 KRW (FYI: it can be more expensive to place a post, core and crown). Also, they have specials on whitening that I found to be a good deal. When it comes to general dentistry, routine check-ups and x-rays, Joyce always makes sure it falls under my health insurance and I walk out paying less than KRW 20,000 every time!

5. Office Ambiance: Others may not care too much about this, but I always love walking into a beautiful, well-kept and modern office. Going to the dentist is stressful, and I at least want to be comfortable while I’m there. The surroundings at A Plus are beautiful and all the machines/tools are top notch from what I can see. This makes my experience that much more enjoyable!

Overall, I have LOVED all my experiences with A Plus Dental and cannot recommend them enough. I have sent friends and co-workers there who also feel the same!

A Plus Dental has two clinics-one in Apgujeong and Bundang. I’ve only been to the Apgujeong office so my review is based solely on them. However, I’ve heard that the Bundang office is just as good, too.

If you’re in need of reputable English-speaking dentists, A Plus Dental Clinic is the place for you! If you would like more information regarding my experiences with A Plus, please feel free to reach out by commenting on this post or emailing us.

As always, stay happy, healthy and beautiful!
